This course is designed for individuals serving as a Designated Employer Representative (DER) under 49 CFR Part 40.
The training explains the DER’s role in administering the DOT drug and alcohol testing program, including receiving verified test results, taking required regulatory actions, managing refusals and violations, coordinating with Medical Review Officers (MROs) and Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs), ensuring Clearinghouse compliance, and maintaining required records.
This course is limited to DOT drug and alcohol program administration and does not cover general FMCSA compliance topics such as hours of service, vehicle maintenance, or CDL licensing.
