What is the difference between Biennial Update and Regular Update?

A Biennial Update is required every 24 months.
A Regular Update must be filed any time your company details change.

Does this cancel my MC/Operating Authority?

No — this service only addresses the USDOT/MCS-150. Cancelling or revoking
operating authority (MC/Docket) is a separate process and can be purchased separately.

How long does deactivation take?

Most requests are processed within 24–72 hours after submission, depending on FMCSA systems.

Can I reactivate later?

In many cases, you can reapply or update your status in the future. We can assist with
reactivation as a separate service.

Can I just ignore my USDOT number?

No — FMCSA still expects updates and may send notices. Deactivation is the proper way
to close your USDOT record.

Can I operate while inactive?

No — operating with an inactive USDOT can lead to enforcement penalties.

Does FMCSA charge for reactivation?

No. FMCSA filing is free. Our fee covers review, correction, filing & support.
